The Rules

There are a number of rules which you will be expected to comply with during the tour. Any team which does not comply with these rules will be disqualified.

1) DRIVE SAFELY — Drive according to the law. Also, drive within your own limits, the limits of your passengers, the limits of your car, and with care and attention to other road users.

2) INSURANCE — All drivers must have a valid car insurance to drive in the UK and Europe, documentation of which must be present whilst driving. A Copy of your Insurance certificate must also be sent to us before the start of the event.

3) CONDITION OF VEHICLE — Your car must be fit for the road, and have a valid MOT present for the duration of the tour. It should also be able to pass any police spot check.

4) DRIVING LICENSE — All drivers must have a valid driver's license and have held it for at least 1 year.

5) AGE — All participants should be 18 years or older.

6) ALCOHOL — Alcohol must not be consumed in the car, not even by non-driver's.

7) THE CAR — Vehicles classed as bangers must cost £250 or less, however, participants are encouraged to spend as much money as is necessary on making the vehicle safe. Vehicles worth more than this may participate but will not be eligible for most prizes.

8) FOREIGN COMPLIANCE — It is the responsibility of each team to know and comply with any applicable driving laws of any country they may visit. Some countries require certain safety equipment to be on board.

9) COMMUNICATION — There should be at least one roaming enabled mobile phone per car so that you can call us in case of an emergency and we can update you on the progress of the tour.

10) DISPOSING OF YOUR BANGER — If you wish to dispose of your car once you have reached the destination we do offer support as is set out in the Event Guide. It is, however, the responsibility of you and your team to dispose of the car legally and safely, which includes having all of the correct documents to do so.

11) RACING — This is a touring tour, not a race. Cars found to be racing each other or driving recklessly will be disqualified.

12) LEGAL AGREEMENT — All participants will be required to sign a Legal Agreement agreeing to the above rules and indemnifying the organisers of the event.
